Amenthi was born and grew up in Sri Lanka, and returned after 8 years working abroad to fall in love with the country all over again. She’s a mom of two, works in aid, has a deep love for her country, and for travel overall.

“Ayubowan, Vanakkam and Welcome! I am a humanitarian worker by day and a Colombo butterfly by night. Apart from sundowning cocktails at the epic Galle Face Hotel Terrace and social coffees at Colombo’s many local cafés, as a single mom of two, I also enjoy showing my kids the splendour of Sri Lanka’s rich wildlife and heritage, be it the hills of Nuwara Eliya or the whales and sea life that roam our oceans. I could talk forever about Sri Lanka’s history, culture, and resilience: Having lived through our hard times, I am always floored by how strong we are as a people and how developed we have become without forgetting where we came from.
